Expect frequent changes and regressions, and use it in a production environment at your own risk!

يدعم كيدي لينكس تقريبًا جميع أجهزة الحاسوب المكتبية والمحمولة التي تحتوي على:

  • برمجيات UEFI الثابتة (وهذا يشمل معظم الأجهزة التي بيعت في آخر 15 عامًا)
  • وحدة معالجة مركزية من AMD أو Intel
  • 2 GB of memory
  • 15 GB of storage space

Known hardware limitations

  • ARM-based CPUs: e.g. Apple “M”-series CPUs and Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs: not supported yet.
  • NVIDIA graphics cards: cards from the “Turing” series or later (e.g. GTX 1630 or newer) work out of the box. Older cards are limited to the “Nouveau” driver, which requires manual setup.
  • Broadcom wireless cards: cards listed here are supported out of the box. Other cards are not supported.
  • DisplayLink screens: not supported. DisplayPort works fine.
  • Printers: Most modern “driverless” and wireless printers made in the last 10 years or so — including all listed here — will work out of the box. Drivers are included for many older wired printers, but not all. See the list of known incompatible printers here.

Ultimately the best way to determine KDE Linux’s suitability for your needs and hardware is to create a live USB drive and preview it on your own computer, with no risk to what’s already on it.

  2. Verify that the .raw file is genuine: visit https://files.kde.org/kde-linux/?C=M;O=D and click Details for the .raw file you downloaded. Copy the long string of nonsense characters next to SHA256 to the clipboard. Right-click on the downloaded .raw file on your computer, choose Properties, and then click on the Checksums tab. Paste the checksum from the website into the text field and press the enter key. Wait for the text field at the top to turn green. If it does, the file on your computer is the same one that you downloaded. If not, the file may be corrupt; try the download again.
  3. If the file is genuine, install ISO Image Writer and launch it.

تأكد من أن Secure Boot معطل. إذا لم يكن كذلك، أو لا تعرف ما إذا كان كذلك أم لا، ادخل إلى واجهة UEFI للحاسوب وعطله. إليك الكيفية:

  1. أولاً، راجع الجدول هنا وابحث عن مفتاح لوحة المفاتيح الصحيح تحت عمود “مفتاح BIOS/UEFI” لعلامة الحاسوب الخاص بك.
  2. للدخول إلى واجهة UEFI، أعد تشغيل الحاسوب واضغط على ذلك المفتاح بشكل متكرر أثناء بدء تشغيله.
  3. بمجرد دخولك إلى واجهة UEFI (ستعرف لأنها تبدو قبيحة جدًا)، ابحث عن المكان الذي يسمح لك بإيقاف تشغيل Secure Boot وقم بإيقاف تشغيله. هذا يختلف لكل تطبيق UEFI، لذا قد تحتاج إلى البحث قليلاً.

  2. راجع الجدول هنا ودوّن مفتاح لوحة المفاتيح تحت عمود “مفتاح قائمة الإقلاع” لعلامة الحاسوب الخاص بك.
  3. أعد تشغيل الحاسوب واضغط على ذلك المفتاح بشكل متكرر أثناء بدء تشغيله.
  4. عند ظهور قائمة الإقلاع، استخدم مفاتيح الأسهم للأعلى أو للأسفل لاختيار الإدخال الذي يبدو أنه يصف مفتاح فلاش USB الخاص بك، ثم اضغط على Enter.

4. استكشف الجلسة الحية ونصّب كيدي لينكس

أنت الآن في “الجلسة الحية” لكيدي لينكس! هذا يسمح لك برؤية كيف يبدو الأمر إذا اخترت تنصيبه. اتبع معالج الترحيب ثم استكشف للتأكد من أن كل ما يهمك يعمل. أوصل أجهزتك التي تستخدمها بشكل يومي وتأكد من أنها تعمل بشكل صحيح.

Once you’re ready to install, double-click on the “Install KDE Linux” icon on the desktop and go through the installer. Installing KDE Linux to the entire disk (erasing all existing data) is the most reliable option. Other installation methods may work, but are known to fail under certain circumstances and are therefore not recommended.
