7 September 2026: Issue affecting system updates in Discover
In KDE Linux versions from earlier than 7 September 2026, Discover may be unable to update the system.
If you see an error like this:
Failed to fetch the updates from https://invent.kde.orq/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/raw/master/org.kde.linux.metainfo.xml. Error message: Error transferring https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/raw/master/org.kde.linux.metainfo.xml - server replied with status code 403
then try to update using the command line instead, as described below.
Once you have used the command line to update to image version 2026-09-07 02:54 or later, and rebooted the system, updating from Discover should work correctly.

אם צריך פירוט נרחב יותר או ש־updatectlלא עובד, אפשר להשתמש ב־run0 /usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysupdate update במקום. במקרים שכאלה, יש לתעד את הפלט ולמלא אותו בדוח תקלה באמצעות https://invent.kde.org/kde-linux/kde-linux/-/issues/new.

When you update the system, older versions of the KDE Linux base system (but not of the installed apps) are automatically kept, so that in the event of a problem you can roll back to an older version.
To save space, performing a system update will remove older versions as needed — but never the currently-running version. If you perform an update when the currently-running version is the oldest one, the second-oldest version will be removed instead.
